Obituary of Joseph Mascioli

Joseph Mascioli, 88, of Lancaster, PA, formerly of Poughkeepsie, NY, peacefully passed from this life on Monday afternoon, April 18, 2011 at Landis Homes, Lititz, PA following a nine month illness. Born in Queens, NY, he was the son of the late Luigi and Antonette Rosano Mascioli. He was the husband of Lorraine C. Halpern Mascioli for 64 years on December 15, 2010.
Mr. Mascioli was baptized in the Roman Catholic faith. During World War II, he served in the United States Army as a Technician Fifth Grade. Prior to retiring, he was employed as a ceramics specialist by IBM in Poughkeepsie.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Mascioli of Lancaster, and Karen Tuschman of Cleveland, OH; and two grandchildren, Paul and Hannah Tuschman. He was preceded in death by a brother, John Mascioli. His family wishes to express their gratitude for the wonderful care, loving attention, and unwavering devotion the nursing staff at Landis Homes provided to Joseph during his time there.
Family and guests are invited to attend a Liturgy of the Word Service on Friday, May 20, 2011 at 10:00 AM at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 610 East Delp Road, Lancaster, PA with Rev. Paul J. Theisz officiating. There will be no viewing. Interment will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA. The family requests that flowers please be omitted.
