Obituary of Jim L. Warren
Please share a memory of Jim to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jim L. Warren, 64, of Mount Joy, PA, died Friday evening, April 19, 2013 at Frey Village in Middletown, PA following a five month battle with cancer. Raised in Kentucky and Indiana, "Jimmie" was the son of Mabel M. DeSpain Warren and the late Arvin Warren.
Jim lived fast and furious and left behind alot of people who will miss him. In addition to his mother who lives in Greensburg, KY, he is survived by a sister, Kathy Milby, companion of Mike Lopez, of the Pocono area; a daughter, Whitney Leigh Warren; a niece, Chrissy Milby of Kentucky; a loving companion of 16 years, Beverly Holliday; and many friends all over the United States.
In his younger years, Jim was an avid golfer and a dedicated bird hunter. He and his favorite bird dog, Smokey, spent hours making sure the bird population of Kentucky and Texas were kept within appropriate environmental controls. He enjoyed deep sea fishing, water skiing, watching NASCAR, and listening to songs by Journey.
Between 1967-69, he proudly served his country as a Green Beret during the Vietnam War. Jim sold land and time-share properties for a number of years for Split Rock Resort in the Poconos, as well as for companies in Iowa, Virginia, New Jersey, Missouri, and Texas. He and Bev enjoyed traveling, with some of their favorite destinations being Hawaii, Mexico, and the Caribbean.
