Donald R. Graybeal, 74, of Manheim, PA, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday morning, April 11, 2013, at his home after a long struggle with ALS. Born in Manheim, he was the son of the late Elwyn and Miriam Shutt Graybeal. He was the husband of Barbara L. Ditzler Graybeal. They would have been married for 50 years this May 18th.
Donald attended Manheim Central High School and was a long-time member of Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church in Manheim. Earlier in his life, he was assistant manager for the former Scat station in Manheim. More recently, he was employed for five years by the former Bulova Technologies in Lancaster, PA, as a material handler. He was also employed by Wenger Feeds in Rheems, PA. In addition to '57 Chevys, he enjoyed feeding and caring for feral cats in the Manheim Community.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Bret R. Graybeal, at home; two siblings, Glenn Graybeal, of Manheim, and Eleanor Atherton, of Reinholds, PA. He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Graybeal.
Services will be private. Interment will be in Manheim Fairview Cemetery, Manheim, PA. There will be no viewing. The family requests that flowers please be omitted. If desired, contributions may be made to Hospice and Community Care, 685 Good Drive, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604 or to ALS Greater Philadelphia Chapter, 321 Norristown Road., Suite 260, Ambler, PA 19002.
