Robert M. Niquette, 93, of Lititz, PA, died on Tuesday morning, November 29, 2011 at Moravian Manor, Lititz, Pennsylvania. A native of Garden City, Kansas, he was the son of the late Seraphen C. and Ethel Thompson Niquette, and husband of Enid A. Altwegg Niquette for 67 years prior to her death in 2009. Robert was a 1941 graduate of Kansas State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in animal husbandry. During World War II, he served under General Patton as a corporal of the Third Armored Division in Western Europe where he received a Purple Heart. He had a long and rewarding career with Feed Service Corporation, serving as Sales Manager for all of the states east of the Mississippi River. In this capacity he worked with the nutritional needs of beef and dairy cattle, and was responsible for developing and maintaining company distribution centers. In retirement Robert owned Liquid Feeds in Leola, Pennsylvania. A member of Highland Presbyterian Church in Lancaster, he enjoyed playing bridge and horseback riding. He was a charter member of the Lititz Flotilla of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. He is survived by son Charles Niquette and wife Garland of Lexington, Kentucky; daughters: Renee Toews and husband Dennis of Salina, KS, Donna Belt and husband James of Raleigh, N.C., Denise Heckel and husband John of Cape May, N.J.; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and sister Ruth Smith of Los Angeles, CA. He was preceded in death by two sisters. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Contributions in Robert's memory may be made to the Moravian Manor, 300 W. Lemon, Lititz, PA 17543. Arrangements are by Spence Funeral Services, Manheim, PA.
