Earth Day

The first Earth Day was organized in the United States in 1970 as a movement to recognize the environmentally harmful practices society was placing on the environment.  Since then, Earth Day is recognized around the world each April 22 in an effort to change human behavior and to work for a cleaner environment.

Advocates for a sustainable environment are choosing alternative funeral practices.  Often, cremation is perceived as eco-friendly.  However, a considerable amount of fossil fuel is required to accomplish this form of disposition. 

Simple Funerals offers eco-friendly burial alternatives that do not require embalming or the consumption of fossil fuels.  Bodies may be wrapped in natural fabrics and placed directly into the ground without a casket or concrete vault.  Bio-degradable caskets are available, if desired.
